Projects Successfully Completed By The Firm

1. Johnnic   - The firm was appointed as part of the legal team that advised a consortium of Black companies, business personalities, trade unions and other business entities(National Economic Empowerment Consortium) in one of the biggest transactions in South African corporate history involving transfer of wealth to Black People. The transaction was worth about R2 billion and involved the acquisition of a stake in a company owned by Anglo American Corporation

2. Maputo Corridor Development Project  - The firm was appointed to the legal team advising the governments of South Africa and Mozambique on a project involving the design, construction and operation of a toll highway linking the two countries. The project is constructed on a concession basis using the innovative build, operate and transfer systems. The project is worth billions of rands.

3. Transnet   -The firm has been appointed to the panel of attorneys of a giant state owned transportation corporation which operates in the air, rail, road and shipping industries.

4. Nelspruit Local Council Proposed Concession For Water Supply And Sanitation Services   - Maluleke, Msimang & Associates is the leader of a consortium of international and local team of lawyers advising the South African Department of Public Works and Correctional Services in a procurement project involving the design, finance, operation and maintenance of 4(four) prisons. The legal work involves the following:

  • Drafting the concession contract
  • Advising on the legislative framework
  • Evaluation of the bids from a legal point of view
  • Negotiations with the shortlisted bidders
  • Providing overall legal guidance and advice.

5. Ikageng Share Scheme   -The firm was appointed joint Legal Advisors together with Edward Nathan Friedland Incorporated, to the National Empowerment Consortium in the 2nd stage of the aforementioned empowerment transaction, which involved the offering of shares in Johnnic to members of the previously disadvantaged communities. The firm was also involved in devising the Share Scheme which involved the acquisition of shares in Johnnic by ordinary members of previously disadvantaged communities.

6. Gateway International Airport   -The firm has been appointed to act on behalf of Gateway International Airport in Pietersburg. It is currently litigating on behalf of Gateway International Airport.

7. Aventura   -The firm assisted the Shomang Consortium who bid for the purchase of Eighty five percent shareholding in the State owned Aventure resorts. Shomang was shortlisted in the Pre-Qualifying round and made a bid for the Purchase of Aventura involving at least One Hundred Million Rand (R100 000 000,00).

The firm has been appointed to the panel of attorneys of Telkom SA Limited and has assisted Telkom in various cases in commercial litigation and particularly in regulatory matters with the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa. The firm assisted Telkom SA Limited in the rate regime case against ICASA.
